The Bridge
ere is the first motor vehicle to complete the crossing of the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge. The trip was made on this morning with supplies of steel and the truck traveled over the bridge from Dartmouth to Halifax. This was made possible by completion of the temporary wooden supports between the suspended span and the approach to enable the concrete truck to start the pouring of the bridge deck tomorrow on the suspended section. Operator of the truck was Leslie MacDonald, Cole Harbour, driver for George H. Day, and at completion of the trip, he was congratulated by D.C. Balmain, Woodstock, New Brunswick boss erector for Dominion Bridge on the project. (Photo by Wetmore) Oct. 25, 1954
